Our Approach to Health
Mobility – The key to spinal health – and all health – is motion. Lack of proper movement in one segment can cause a cascade of other negative effects via poor compensation patterns. Through chiropractic adjustments and Active Release Techniques, mobility can be restored where it is lost and enable you to return to an active lifestyle.
Stability – Without proper core strength and endurance, all the motion in the world cannot “fix” us. Weak muscles become tight, tight muscles become weak, and we run the risk of overloading our back joints, which results in pain and injury. Proper functional exercises are the key to prolonged support of the spine, and keeping you out of the office in the long run.
Inflammation Control – The final piece of the puzzle is controlling inflammation at the molecular level. Inflammation leads to fibrotic changes, a weakened immune system, loss of mobility, and further pain and degeneration. We need to put good things in our bodies that decrease this inflammatory cascade.
Chiropractor Carmel, Fishers, Indianapolis, Noblesville, Indiana
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.
Chiropractic adjustments are gentle, hands-on maneuvers designed to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event or through chronic or repetitive stresses. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and allowing tissues to heal.
ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue mobilization technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Acute conditions, an accumulation of small micro-traumas, or chronic compression can cause the body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area, which binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. The ART provider uses his or her hands to treat the abnormal tissues by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.
